I was very saddened to hear about your father’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family at this difficult time.

Dean (Mr. Osmond) was like a second father to me while I was growing up in Goose Bay. I spent much of my formative years with him and Janet (Mrs. Osmond) as I was best friends with Brad… he was an exceptional man and an excellent role model and spoke a lot about engineering (I am an engineer today!). He could make you laugh hysterically and simultaneously intimidate the crap out of you… something I will never forget.

A significant portion of who I am today has come from that time with the Osmond family and it pains me to think that he is now passed. I will always have fond memories of my time with him and the rest of the family. My thoughts, along with the rest of the Butler family are with you all during these difficult times…

Janet & family, we are so very sorry for your loss, so very sad, we send you our most sincere condolences, & we keep you in our thoughts & in our prayers. God Bless!!!

June,Junette and Jolene so sooty for your loss
Dean was a great friend who you could depend on. I remember our chats when he was my ride to work, we were so young and had big hopes but he did become an engineer and I a police officer. I am sure you will miss Dean dearly as so many will but fond memories will keep him close.
My thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days to come.

June, Junette and Jolene. I’m so sorry to hear of Dean’s untimely passing. I know you are missing him strongly. He was a gentle and humerous soul. I remember fondly playing at your house on the Old Cart Road as a kid, and later competing against Dean for top spots in class at St. Lawrence School (he usually beat me). Later, we met occasionally in university, he doing engineering, and me doing geology, in the Carew bldg. I bumped into him once many years later and was amazed at how much he then resembled his father.

As I do when thinking of my wife, who also passed recently with cancer, I know she is no longer suffering, and I take solace that she is still here in the faces and minds of our children.

Gerry Squires (Wendell and Helen’s son)
