Bishop, Samuel – Passed away Suddenly on Monday, January 9th, 2017 at his residence in Portugal Cove, age 85 years. Predeceased by his wife, Beatrice (nee Barrett), daughter Debbie and son Ian. Leaving to mourn, daughter Deanne Spurrell (Ken); son Campbell; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jake (Edith); also nieces, nephews and friends, especially his special buddies Jason Collins and Sterling Kean. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” Thus, while you await the Paradise where no one will be sick and die, may you lean on Jehovah God to cope with your separation from beloved Samuel.
We were very saddened to hear of Sam’s passing, he was such a kind and gentle man. It was always such a pleasure to have a chat with him whenever we ran into each other, He suffers no longer, may he rest in peace.

My thoughts are with the family in these trying times. I was heartbroken when I heard of Sam’s passing. Such a tragic loss of a wonderful person. Had many a conversation with Sam as he sat at the end of the bar at Wild Horses. He had a knack for brightening people’s days, always left me smiling and laughing. The entire staff would get anxious if we didn’t see him strolling down the road to see us after a day or two. The place will never be the same. Rest in peace my friend, til we meet again.
So sorry for your loss. Wildhorses is not going to be the same without him. He will truly missed, God Bless.
