Passed peacefully away on April 22nd at her home in Bay L’Argent.
Predeceased by her father Dr. Hariprasad Dwivedi; her mother Indira Dwivedi; her father-in-law Deviprasad Acharya; mother-in-law Dayagauri Acharya; her brother-in-law Chandrakant Acharya.
Left with fond and loving memories her husband Dr. Surendra Acharya; sons Dr. Sujeet (Dr. Shamita), and Amar; and grandsons Navir and Nayav; her brother-in-laws Vipinchandra Acharya; Arvind Acharya; Praful Acharya; and Dr. Pradip Joshi; and sister-in-laws Dr. Virbala Acharya (Patel); Meena Acharya (Thakar); Pramila Acharya (Bhatt); Kashmira Acharya (Dave); Dr. Smita Joshi Acharya; as well as all their children and grandchildren.
Also left to mourn are Dr. Rajendra Dwivedi (Chhaya); Prashant Dwivedi (Nila); Surbhi (Dr. Harshardrai); Harsha (Mukesh Shukla); as well as all their children and grandchildren; and a large close circle family and friends.
The family will be accepting visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, from 3:30-6:00pm on Tuesday, April 25th.
Flowers will be accepted or donations in Meenaxi’s memory can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
I just learnt about Meenaxis sad demise in April 2023 while browsing online on my laptop.
I knew Meenaxi while studying in the same class in medical college in India.
I remember her as academically brilliant with a compassionate personality.
My heartfelt condolences to her close family members.
May her soul rest in peace.

I was a patient of Meena’s at St.Vincent’s in Ottawa many years ago. She was always soft-spoken and empathic toward her patients. I remember needing to see her rather urgently and went to your home on Plante Dr for an appointment on her day off. She was a wonderful kind soul who will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to you, her family, extended family and friends.
Dr. Acharya and family, I am so very sorry to hear about Meena’s passing. I worked with Dr. Acharya for most of my long career as a therapist on the Stroke Rehabilitation program at Bruyere Continuing Care. She was a great mentor and someone I often sought out to discuss challenging situations. I also enjoyed our personal chats. My sincere condolences.

It is with great sadness that we (Datta family) mourn the passing of Meenamashi.. A kind caring and loving soul, who touched our lives on a deep and meaningful way. While the tyranny of distance always separated us from meeting frequently in person, we spoke on the phone regularly. She took a keen interest in our family and the well-being of our children, Sagar and Srija.
I had the good fortune of meeting her twice in Ottawa during university visits. On both occasions, we shared a meal at her home. She insisted on picking me up and dropping back to the hotel. The few hours that she found in her busy schedule to make me (her sisters son in law) feel welcome showed me her generosity of spirit and genuine empathy for her family and their welfare.
I do feel a slight sense of regret that we were never able to host her in Australia. Some things are never meant to be.
However, we will always have a special place for her in our family and celebrate the wonderful person that she was
In the words of Rabindranath Tagore,

Because the dawn has come”
We pray that her eternal soul may rest in peace.
