Yvonne Carmel Mogridge

March 9, 1964 to July 24, 2023

Obituary

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing on July 24th, 2023, of Yvonne Mogridge, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Predeceased by her mother, Margaret (nee Tobin) and father, Don Griffin. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Darryl Mogridge; children, Justin Cole (Victoria) and Jessica Cole (Geoff); brothers, Rod (Sheila) and Ken (Cindy); granddaughter, Addison, and a soon-to-be-born granddaughter; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and godson, Johnny Judge, who held a special place in her heart, as well as a wide circle of friends around the world.

Everyone who met Yvonne was touched by her compassion, giving nature, and zest for life. She and Darryl enjoyed travelling the world, visiting exotic locations.

This message from a close friend embodies her spirit: “Yvonne was a bright light, and just being around her taught us so much about how to live and how to love.” She will be missed by all who were privileged to have known her.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Science Centre, including the staff of 4 North A, and the Ottawa General, who cared for Yvonne over the past two years.  A special thank you to Bong, for his caring treatment, compassion and friendship, while Yvonne was admitted to the Ottawa General.

A Celebration of Yvonne’s life will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, July 28th, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Yvonne’s memory can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada at the following link:The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (llscanada.org)

Condolences to all the family, I will miss you forever Yvonne. May you rest in peace,

We knew Yvonne her whole life. From when Aunt Neet used to do French curls in her beautiful blonde hair to when her father called her Daddy’s little peach on a pear can and zipping around town in her Honda CRX. She loved to eat and travel and have fun – she had a great life. Words can’t express how much we will miss her but we are comforted that she is now at peace. Sincere condolences to Darryl, Jessica, Justin, Rod and Ken.
