It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan, in Kingston ON, surrounded by his family. Allan is survived by his partner Linda Wilson, his mother Ruby Francis (predeceased by his father Clyde), his siblings – Carol, Clyde (Debbie) and Donna (Brian). Loving uncle to Jamie (Larissa), Felicia, Clyde (Ashley), Courtney (Nikki) and great uncle to Carman, Elijah, Allie and Bradley. He was a beloved Poppa Allan to Maren and her parents Jaclyn and Paul, and will be missed by Linda’s family as son-in-law to Dorothy, brother-in-law to Karen (Leonard) and uncle to Jeff (Parker), Emily (Jake), Sarah (Alex) and Savannah. Allan will be remembered fondly by many other extended family and friends across Canada, including a long-cherished friendship of 42 years with Larry Wall.

Allan was proud to serve as a corporal in the 1st Battalion Royal Newfoundland Regiment of the Canadian military. He was a dedicated and longstanding employee of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and most recently Costco Kingston in Loss Prevention.

He loved to travel and explore with Linda – especially trips to Vancouver and back home to Bauline. His sense of humor, kindhearted nature and deep appreciation of music, especially the Rolling Stones, will be missed greatly.

He will be laid to rest at Bauline Line Cemetery with his father. A visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home in St. John’s, NL on November 9th 2-4pm, 7-9pm followed by a service November 10th at 2pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 3rd at the Portuguese Cultural Centre, 959 Division St, Kingston ON from 1:00-4:00.

In lieu of flowers the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada Suite 601-2 Lansing Square, Toronto, Ontario M2J 4P8 or University Hospital Kingston Foundation, Suite#4-55 Rideau Street, Kingston, Ontario K7K 2Z8 in his memory.

Linda and Allan’s family are so grateful for all the support and care they received from his friends, colleagues and the staff at KGH throughout his illness.

Please note that Carnell’s Funeral Home is a nut free building, due to a staff member with a severe allergy. Thank you for your understanding.

To Ruby, Linda, Carol, Clyde and Donna, I send my heartfelt condolences on Allan’s passing. Allan was my friend. Memories of our carefree childhood make me smile. ~ A true friend is never truly gone. Their spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved them. ~ Unknown.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences upon learning of the passing of Allan. Though he and I hadn’t spoken in over 35 years as he “moved away” and I remain here in Pouch Cove. I remember him as a young boy!! He was so polite and kind. Always a smile on his face !
May his Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace 🌹🌹
