Convoyed to his special place in the sky amongst the beautiful stars on January 6th, 2022 at the tender age of 38. Surrounded by his loving family and best friend and soulmate Alison “Baby”.
Andy was blessed with his greatest gift – his beautiful son Felix. He was the best Daddy and Felix’s biggest fan. On February 3rd, 1983, a beautiful baby boy was born to Ron and Marina Whiteway completing their family of 5. His brothers Trevor (Mel) and Omar (Kimberly) were so proud to have a baby brother to love and cherish for their whole life. Andy grew up in Grandois, a place he always called home, often reminiscing about playing in the cove with the smell of salt water and the cool breeze on his face.
Andy loved all things and everyone so deeply. Family was at the forefront, always looking forward to the next get together even if it was just “the 6”. Andy could play anything with a string and loved every opportunity he had to jam with the boys. He was always singing even in the darkest of days. You would often go down to “The Shed” and the first thing you’d hear was Andy singing and tapping his feet. He was so proud of the shed he built creating a space for all he loved.
Andy was passionate about many things. He loved to play darts (he was an amazing dart player) and a good ol round of golf. He was a true team player and that shined through whether he was playing hockey, softball or just a night playing board games.
Andy holds a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Growing up some of Andy’s best friends were his cousins. Really all the crowd “up home” were so special to him. Life takes you in all directions, but he always had a special place for everyone. Andy could make a friend anywhere he went.
Andy was the special uncle to his only nephew Oliver and his nieces Cailey and Finley. A son in law to Ethel Noseworthy, a brother in law to Jason (Chantal), Mark (Jocelyn) and Adam (Launa) and great friend to Darrell, Chris, the by’s from darts, his band mates and neighbours George and Diane.
Alison and the family would like to thank all who cared for Andy with kindness in their hearts and a gentle touch. Kim was Andy’s 24/7 Nurse, sister and best bud. Thank you for taking such good care of Andy and for continuing to take care of us all. Dr. Armstrong, Dr. Adams, Dr. Gaviolli, Dr. Katie MacDonald, the support at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Centre and the palliative care unit at the Miller Centre. All the wonderful people who rallied around Andy, making sure all his wishes were accomplished.
Andy’s wit and laugher brought light to everyone around him, his strength and courage was admirable. When you look up at the stars at night know he is looking right back at you.
An invitation-only funeral service will be held at The Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, January 12th at 11:00AM.

Andy spoke so proudly of you and Felix , he loved you both so much .
It was a blessing to have met you Andy. Andy , gentleman with a heard of good , so kind & respectful. I’ll never forget the day he came and delivered chocolate chip cookies to the entire cancer clinic & radiation clinic I’m sure his wife Alison made them . Everyone loved Andy . There was always a good conversation to be had and I think he’d wait and come last so he could have a big chat..❤️ I never heard him complain he was always so positive and had a great will to fight . I’m sure the Andy I knew fought till he couldn’t fight anymore .

I watched the service for Andy , such a beautiful send off for such an amazing man
Alison, Felix, Marina, Ron, and everyone who loved Andy. I’ve tried to write this a few times and words just failed me. They failed me because it feels impossible to write how truly special and what an impact Andy left on the heart of everyone who were lucky enough to call him a friend.
I honestly don’t know how I would have gotten through the years in high school without Andy’s “tormenting ways.” He was always finding some way to make me laugh because he knew that I wouldn’t be able to stop and then the whole class was disrupted by our teacher asking me to stop and leave the class to calm down. When I would walk back in the class, it was yet again met with his contagious smile and of course I was giggling again and the cycle probably continued.
Since the news I have not been able to not shed a tear at the struggles for all of you. Especially his wife, son, and parents. The day I heard he was at peace with the angels my heart broke for all of you.
Andy left a piece of his light with all of us. It is impossible to not cry over the loss of his contagious love of life, family, friends, and music.
Alison, there are no words that will help you through this time and the days ahead. May God bless you with Andy’s presence to help guide you through the future of raising your precious Felix. As a mother, I do not know how I would get through what you will have to face.

I was rather shocked to learn yesterday of Andy’s passing. I was teaching in Croque in 1999 and we decided to enter into a soccer tournament in Conche. We didn’t have a gym so we practiced outside on the road and in the “hall”. Andy was our goalie. I remember going to Conche for the tournament. Nobody took us seriously because we didn’t have a gym so everyone thought we weren’t prepared. We were in the finals and Andy stood on his head. He gave me several “heart attacks” because sometimes he’d throw the ball over the centre line which resulted in a penalty shot. But, he refused to be scored on! We won the championship thanks in no small part to Andy!! It’s a great memory of a fine young fella . RIP
