Archibald (Arch) James Hanlon
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Arch James Hanlon, on March 28th in his 69th year, at the Palliative Care Unit after a long battle with cancer. He was a kind and gentle man, well-loved by everyone who knew him. He loved to sing, and everyone loved listening to him because he had a beautiful voice.

Leaving to mourn his son Gerry; two brothers Freeman (Agnes), and Ron (Violet); two sisters Gladys Linegar (Albert), and Jocelyn (Pete Lawlor); a large circle of relatives and friends, including many nieces and nephews; special mention of our niece and good friend Donna Abbott-Ouellette, and his good friends Leo Jones and Derick Squires.
We would like to thank Dr. Louise Rogers and Derek Tucker and all the staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their care, kindness, and support. God Bless you all.

Arch was the only adult I knew who spoke openly about mental health and the only man I knew who cried. The first person I knew to have music playing constantly in his home. He had a never ending supply of jokes and stories of living away and coming home. Someone to call if your car broke down or if you needed a ride anywhere day or night. My heart is broken. He was too good for this world and he’s finally at peace. Condolences to anyone who was lucky enough to know him.
Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Arch, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
RIP Arch 🙏
The Hanlon Family:
I am sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and prayers to all as you go through this difficult time.
Arch was someone who could tell you the truth with both sincerity and humor. Always he was a kind soul who be there to help you before you had to ask for it if he knew of your need.. He would always go the extra distance for everyone , friends, family and strangers..
In dying his courage was amazing, and his faith unwavering.. The weaker the body became the stronger his soul became.
For those of us that love Arch so much, we thank you Jocelyn and Pete for the many many hours of devotion and care , the heroic work and efforts to keep Arch comfortable , and honoring all his final wishes and prayers.. He loved and appreciated you so much.
*** May Arch’s bright soul and big heart be rewarded greatly . ***

I am sorry to hear about the passing of my very good friend.
Arch what can I say, I love you and I will miss you. You taught me to drive in your car and then helped me get my first car, you never took money for gas and you always offered me money if I needed it.
You did so many good things for me as we were growing up and I can only hope that I made sure that you knew how much I appreciated you and how grateful I was to be able to call you my friend.
I take comfort in knowing that your suffering is over, you didn’t deserve it and please know that you will be forever in my thoughts and prayers and until we meet again I will remember you always.
