Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on August 9th, 2021, Audrey Florence (Barnes) Withers, age 95, of St. John’s NL.
Audrey is pre-deceased by her husband Edward Charles (Ted) Withers; parents Nellie and Frank; brother Harrison, sister Joyce Scott, brother Weston, sister Cammie Collins; mother-in-law Mary (DeBourke) Withers, father-in-law Jack Withers; brothers-in-law Robert LaBelle, Robert Withers, Jack Scott, Richard Barnes; sisters-in-law Marie Labelle, Doreen Chamberlain, Joan Colford, Mary (Clarke) Withers and Barbara Dobbin.
Left to celebrate her life are her children Judy Mugford (Doug), Paul (Ida Fagan), Tina Furlong (Chris), Jayne Blagdon and Brian (Linda); sisters Olga Barnes and Estelle Lamswood; brothers-in-law Raymond Collins, Jack Withers (Mary Carole); sister-in-law Patricia Barnes; grandchildren Susan Foss (Jason), Karen-Anne Charlton (Michael), Allison Furlong, Jennifer Furlong (Ryan Oake), Colin Withers (Tia Merkle), David Withers (Rebecca Pardy), Sean Blagdon (Alyssa) and Julie Drodge (Danny); great-grandchildren Kamden Foss, Flynn Charlton, Reed Charlton, Audrey Charlton, Sawyer Blagdon, Daisy Blagdon, Sarah Fagan and Alyssa Fagan. Also mourning her loss are many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Thank you to Dr. Louise Rogers, Vicki Doyle NP and the staff of 4 South East Pleasantview Towers who have lovingly cared for Audrey since February 2017. Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, on August 12th, 2021 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM and on August 13th from 10 AM to noon. Funeral service will be held on August 13th, 2021 at 2 PM at Carnell’s Chapel with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Audrey’s memory to the Alzheimers Society NL or to a charity of your choosing

I’m so sorry for your loss. Although I only met your mother a couple of times I certainly heard many stories over the years and felt like I knew her. Hang on to all the wonderful and precious memories Brian and family. A big hug goes your way. ❤️
So sorry for your loss……I was her caregiver when she was on Downing St……..always loved to be baking and she shared a few with me …….still make them today and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers……..Rest in Peace Audrey.
While I have not seen any of the Withers family in many many years, I do have fond memories of our childhood on Downing Street. I remember your mom as a quiet gentle lady. No matter the age, it is always sad to lose a parent but I do hope your memories will bring peace.

Tina, Chris, Karen-Anne, Ally and Jenn, I am so sad to be so far away from you all and would love to be there to support you all and, of course, share lots of hugs.. Love to you all.
Jack and I are very saddened to hear of Audrey’s passing. Audrey was a wonderful wife and “Mom”. I always enjoyed my chats with her as she was such a truly nice person. Our sympathies to all.
