Bernadette Mary Chafe (nee Wade)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Bernadette Mary Chafe (nee Wade) on May 19^th 2023 at the age of 70.

Predeceased by husband Wayne, her parents Martin and Theresa, brothers Martin and Brendan. Bernadette is also predeceased by her twin sister Madonna in 1953.

Leaving to mourn are her two daughters and their husbands; Madonna (Bob Whelan) and Jill (Mark Evely); and her four precious grandchildren, Devin, Jenna, Isla and Kian. Bernadette is also survived by her sister Marie Linehan (Jim, deceased); her brother Harold Wade (Jane); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Agnes Pratt home, especially to those on Stella Burry Place for their care during Bernadette’s time there and their compassion shown to her and her family during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mom’s memory to the Agnes Pratt Foundation or the SPCA.

Celebration of Life and Inurnment details in early June will be announced at a later date.

We ask that you remember our Mom over the coming days by having a cookie, a square or a piece of cake. She loved sweets – especially if they were homemade.
