It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Blanche Margaret Hussey (nee White) age 72 years young.
Predeceased by her husband, James (Jim) Hussey. Her parents, Gerald and Rita White; Brothers, Patrick and Joesph; sister Bernadette, and brother-in-law, Alex Peddle.
Left with endless memories, her cherished daughters, Kelly (Adam Carpenter), Melissa (Rodney Bradbury); Precious grandchildren, Jaxson, Alex, Addison, and Jake; Her loving partner of 14 years, Donny Squires, his children, Chris (Penney), Kelly (Francis) and Donny’s grandchildren, Jenna, and Addie. Sisters, Ann Peddle and Pauline (Hubert Hussey); Many friends; her nieces and nephews, her co-workers at The Paint Shop, as well as a large circle family and friends.
Blanche had a wonderful life with her husband Jim of 30 years and their girls. Early years endless happy times the door was always open to family and friends and the driveway was never empty and the Christmas tree was always full (if you know you know). Jim and Blanche spent a lifetime surrounded by those who loved them, people were always drawn into the happy life they shared.
After Jims passing the joy never ended, Blanche enjoyed life to the fullest with her daughters. They traveled and shopped, had sleepovers and breakfast dates. They loved to wine and dine at their favorite restaurants, dinner theatres, travelling abroad with endless cruising and all-inclusive vacations. She had a passion for interior decorating and shared her talent through her work at The Paint Shop until she retired. She took pride in her gardens and enjoyed the great outdoors, camping on the weekends with Donny and walking daily. Blanche cherished the time with her grandchildren and their number one fan, cheering them on at all their extracurricular activities. She will be remembered as the heart of her family, who had an incredible sense of style. She touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Huge thanks to Dr. Santhi Murthy for her ongoing care and dedication to Blanche over the years. To Dr. Larson at the H.Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and to the fabulous nurses and staff on 5 North B at the Health Science Center. A Very special thank you to her Best friends Joyce & Maisie, sister Pauline and her niece Wendy who stayed by her side over the last weeks supporting her, Kelly & Melissa.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. on Sunday, October 22, 3-9pm. Flowers graciously accepted – Blanche loved all things beautiful. Funeral service to be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel 10am Tuesday, October 24, with a burial to follow Anglican cemetery Bauline Line Ext.

Blanche was a joy to work with at The Paint Shop. She was always so full of life, and full of mischief too! Lol. Her smile was infectious. I will always have fond thoughts of her and the fun we had.
