Obituary
On November 10, 2022, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family and friends, Brooke Ashley Perry (nee Zinke) passed away peacefully at the age of 34.
A devoted mother, beloved wife, cherished daughter, sister, and friend, Brooke truly touched the lives of all those who knew her and even those who simply knew her story.
Diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at just 30-years-old, Brooke took the fear and uncertainty that accompanies such a devastating diagnosis, and turned it into the most endearing motivation. She was small in stature but absolutely mammoth in her determination to live and love.
Left to carry her memory, are husband Roy and son Owen, who were without a doubt the loves of her life; twin brother Brandon, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond; sister Jamie who played an integral role in her young life; father Brian; mother and father-in-law, Roy and Louise Perry who affectionately called her their ‘daughter-in-love’; a beautiful brood of nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins and of course a core group of friends and cheerleaders, without whose support she could not have been so strong. In her final rest Brooke is also joined by her mother Kathy, who passed away in 2010.
In the darkness of our grief, we miss her dearly and pine for the life she did not get to finish. Yet there is much light to be found in the memory of her beauty, intelligence and strength.
In the words of her darling boy, whose love and laughter was the sunshine of her life, “Mommy was a great friend; gone but not forgotten.”
All are welcome to pay their respects on Friday November 18, 2-4 and 7-9pm at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s. A celebration of Brooke’s life will be held next year when her friends and family, near and far, are all able to gather together.

To the Perry and Zinke family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Brooke in high school and I will never forget her smile, humour and caring heart. She will be greatly missed.
To Brooke’s family,
We went to public school together, pretty much from kinder garden to grade 8. We weren’t very close, but she was always a really kind and a sweet person to everyone. I don’t have a single bad memory of her. I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss.
