Hi Joan
I was sad to hear Ches had just passed away, my wife mentioned it to me yesterday. I always enjoyed and have great memories of Ches, his dad and you at the store, and Ray would pop in from time to time. He was always good to me and he always made me laugh, he was just a good guy.
I love the picture, he certainly didn’t change..

My sincere condolences to the Vey family. I remember how kind Mr. Vey was when I used to go to his store as a child on Gower Street. Rest In Peace.

Joan and family

Deepest condolences. To you all..my thoughts and prayers are with you .,🙏🏼

We were so saddened to here of uncle Ches’s passing. I know that there are no words to lighten a heavy heart at this time. Fondly I remember uncle Ches weeding his potato garden or cleaning cod while at Goobies. May you find comfort in the many memories today and the weeks that follow.

Sorry to hear Mr. Vey has passed away. I lived next door to them for a short while back in the late 90’s. I always enjoyed my chats with him. He was a very talented fella , always making things in his shed back then. I am happy to have some model boats made by him. Condolences to Mrs. Vey and the family.

Joan, Fernleigh, Blair and Families;

Mrs Vey and family,
My deepest sympathy on your loss. When I lived across the street on Gower I saw you both daily when I picked up my paper. You were both good neighbours. I missed you when you moved.
Again my deepest sympathy

As a child growing up on Victoria Street I have many good memories of Mr. Vey and the family at their store–as do my two brothers. My condolences RIP.

Sending deepest sympathy to my Aunt Joan, Fernleigh, Blair and their families. Our hearts are with you, sending strength, and love. Aunt Ada, Marty, Bruce, Chrissy and families❤️

Joan and Family, sending my sincere condolences. I first meet Joan and Chesley back in the 70s at their corner store Victoria Grocery. You would always see fresh produce and rabbits hanging in the window. The good old days. Cherish all your fond memories. Chesley lived a life of full adventure. Rest easy.

Sending our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Vey Family at this time. God bless.

First and foremost to my beautiful Aunt, cousin’s Lee and Blair our sincere and heart felt condolences to you.. Growing up we were very lucky to have Uncle Ches. Truly a kind, gentle man who always had a story about a moose hunt or being out it the country(woods) and sometimes it was just a long tale. My fondest memories was going out as a young boy rabbit catching or seeing who had the best shot with a rifle. (Of course he always was the best shot, not a lie). I was very fortunate to have such a special and loving Uncle, the lessons he taught me about the woods and hunting has been with me my entire life. The wisdom of Uncle Ches is a voice that will reside in my heart and soul forever. As we all say goodbye to this wonderful man, we will hold him forever in our hearts. RIP Uncle Ches we will meet again to have another yarn.

I first met Mr. Vey probably when I started work at Home Hardware. He was always a pleasure to see. I so enjoyed our chats. He was so proud of his skill. Rightly so.
I am honored to have one of his Dorys. I have spoken of him often when I proudly show the little Yellow and Green Dory with the HH paint.
To his family I send my sincere condolences. Thinking of you. Take care
Tanya
