It is with great sadness that we announce Christopher’s sudden passing at home in St. John’s, NL at the age of 34. He faced many challenges in his life with courage. We are comforted that he is continuing his journey in peace, surrounded by love.
Predeceased by his Nanny and Poppy Wilfred and Bessie Savory, and his grandfather Graham Deacon.
Left to mourn with loving memories are his parents Christopher and Diana Deacon, grandmother Thora Deacon, former spouse Emily Catherine Cooke, aunts Sandra Savory, Rosemary Norman (Craig), Lori Savory (Scott Hancock), Maggie Bolton (Tom), cousins Ruth and Simon Bolton, Abby Quigley, and Sarah Norman, extended family, and friends.
Special thanks to Drs. Sinnott and Ritchie, and the staff at the HOPE program, for their care and support over the past few months.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, August 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 26 at 10 a.m. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quadrangle NL and the Eating Disorder Foundation of NL. We encourage friends and family to remember him with acts of kindness.

September 26th, 2023. We, at Revelstoke, BC mental health centre (RAOP) have just heard the devastating news of Christopher’s passing. We had the opportunity to know Christopher and meet his parents, as well. Our hearts go out to the family and he will be fondly remembered as a loving man.

I was in treatment with Chris twice in Vancouver, and had many heartwarming discussions with him about life, this dang illness, the future, our hopes… and of course… coffee! He was an amazing human who fought so hard for many years. I’m sending all my love to you and your family during this challenging time.
