Clara Genge (nee White)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clara Genge surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at age 73 years old at the PCU Unit in the Miller Centre, St. John’s.

She leaves behind her husband, Robert, Daughter Joan (Kirby), Son Justin (Jana), Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Lauren and Liam, Sister: Joyce (Gaydon), Brother: Donald (Agnes), In-laws: Sheila, Cyril (Julie), Mona, Sue, Sadie, Ivy and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Steward and Maria Jane, Sister: Elizabeth (Charlie), Brothers: Clifford and Stanley, in-laws, Harrison, Susie, Anthony, Albert (Marie) and Lambert.

She loved getting together with family and friends and cooking for everyone.  There was nothing like her own vegetables from her many gardens.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved watching them play in their sports.  During her time at Sears, she got to know people all along the coast and enjoyed running her own business in Deadman’s Cove later.  She could always be counted on to answer the phone when you needed someone to talk to.  She was a very religious, practical and conservative person who didn’t miss very many days at church.

The family would like to send sincere thanks to the 4NB staff at the Health Science Centre for the care they provided to Clara during her illness.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral Service will take place at a later date.
