It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend on Sunday March 12th, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre, Daphne Victoria Duff, age 87 years.
Predeceased by parents Caleb and Lillian Squires; her husband of 53 years, Wallace; brother Caleb Squires; twin sister Daisy Sharpe.
Leaving to mourn her adoring children, James Murphy (Debbie), Leonard Murphy (Bernice), Howard (Millie) Duff, Charmaine Kennedy (Roger), Karen Seaward, and Marilyn Duff Penney; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and especially her special great-granddaughter Katelyn; brother Mack Squires; sisters, Vera Clarke (George), and Glenys Ainsworth (Tom); other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Great appreciation to Dr. Stefanelli and the nurses and staff of 4South-B at the Health Sciences Centre for the care and support shown to our “Mom”. Also, to the staff of Meadow Creek Retirement Home for the loving care which she received as a resident there.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will take place on Monday, March 20th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Thomas of Villa Nova Cemetery, Topsail.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Daphne’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer’s Society.

So saddened to hear about your loved one Daphne’s passing..
Daphne was a wonderful woman with a lot of kindness and caring for the people around her. She was a neighbour of my mother-in-law, Frances Hipditch, at Meadow Creek (who passed away last March 14, 2022.)..
Daphne kept a kind of eye on Gert. One day when I was there We were talking about bad feet and Gert said she had bad feet and Daphne also indicated she had really bad feet. So they compared feet , not a pretty sight, but was a bit of a laugh. We all had a nice belly chuckle. It was really nice and friendly. Frances and I really liked her. She had good heart, and was very kind.
I Wish I had visited Daphne in the home after Frances past away. Time went so fast . I was so pleased to have met her, and spend some fun time with Frances, and Daphne ’chatting in the chairs outside her room, and in Frances room.. They both hopefully are content, playing cards, and chatting in heaven..

So very sad and sorry your Mom has passed. Your Mom was my Aunt and a very special friend. We shared a lot of stories and laughs together. She always talked about my Mom Daisy, her twin sister she dearly loved. Every time I visit she always had a tea bun or some candy wrapped up for me. She would say make sure you call when you’re home. Thinking about you now as you grieve the loss of a much loved mother and grandmother. I will always remember Daphne as a strong lady who overcame many trials in her lifetime and yet she managed to keep her zest for life. Her smile was infectious. She was smart with a quick wit and always up for a bit of fun. The last time I saw her she was admiring my Blundstone boots and wanted a pair – she was so very young at heart. She will truly be missed.

I was introduced to Daphne when I became friends with Jim, Karen and her other children over 50 years. ago and knew right away I would like her. She was so very easy to like.
