Obituary
It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, David Hammond, on May 19, 2024 at the age of 68.
Dave is predeceased by his wife Marion (nee Tucker), grandson Carter, and his parents George and Mary Hammond.
He leaves to mourn his loving fiancé of 32 years Michelle Mitchell, his children Cheryl Hann (Chris), Mark (Stacy); grandchildren whom he adored, Marion, Caylee, Adam, Emma, Ryder, and great-grandson Grayson. His brother and best friend Mike Hammond (Marlene), sisters Sandra Keough (Tom), Gloria Hibbs (Carnell), Norine Tucker (Wayne), Angela Butler (Don), Wanda Heffernan (Sid), and Trudy Mitchell, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews.
Dave spent most of his younger years playing guitar, accordion, and singing in a band. His love of music continued on, playing and singing at family gatherings and even at home, he enjoyed singing karaoke with Michelle and listening to Jim Reeves.
Following Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held from the St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, on Saturday, May 25th at 3pm. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Extension.
