Obituary
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Douglas Freeman Churchill, age 69 years, who passed away surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Maryann (Polly), brothers Lloyd, Rev. Arthur, Leonard, and Tolson; sister Enid Churchill. Leaving with saddened hearts his son Adam (Shelley), daughter Angela, sister Jean Hussey, his grandchildren Aubrey and Maryanne, as well as a huge circle of nieces, and nephews, especially his two special nieces Enid Pendergast and Lisa Hussey. A special thank you to Dr. Douglas Angel, Teri-Lynn Parrell, and all the special nurses of 4East St. Clare’s – he thought you all were angels.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, August 8 from 10am-9pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, on Monday, August 9 at 2pm. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Extension. Please contact the family to attend the funeral service enidpendergast0206@gmail.com, or adam@adamchurchill.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations in Douglas’ memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

While I haven’t seen Doug in many, many years, I remember him well. Hie was a bit of a devil in his day and he provided me with many laughs. RIP old friend.
