One year since you passed away!
I miss you so much!
I know we will meet again one day!

Today would have been your 74th Birthday!
I think about you every day and miss you so very much!
Love forever,
Your sister and friend,
Brenda

How can it be one month akready since we last spoke and hugged beautiful Rosonna! My heart is broken, but I know you are no longer in pain. I miss you very much!
Your sister and friend!

My sympathy to Ellen and to all of Rosonna’s dear children, family, friends and students. Rosanna was my thesis advisor but she was more-a model of kindness and a tolerant perpetuator of faith that everyone can make a practical and meaningful difference. Everyone has talent. Try to see all sides. I have never forgotten and I will never forget her. She created impact for good that will live on for generations to come! It was a privilege to know you, Rosonna.

To my beautiful gorgeous and sweet Aunt Rosonna You are going to be dearly missed. I will always remember my visits to Newfoundland.. Thank you for being there when I needed you, I love you very much!

I am saddened by your passing, Rosonna, but understand what you and Ellen were going through.

Thankfully, I had many years working with Rosonna, almost from the beginning when both she and I joined Memorial. We had our many discussions and debates, particularly with approaches to research, but we frequently ended them over a cup of coffee and a good laugh. She had a great sense of the wide range of how we come to our understandings—a true scholar. I learned much from her. It was a real pleasure working with Rosonna, and I missed her when she retired.
I did not know how ill Rosonna was until recently but managed to have a couple good visits with her. Condolences to you Ellen and to your family. I know Rosonna will be long remembered, and she will be seriously missed but with many good memories.

Rosonna is such an amazing person, who helped impact and influence so many lives; and while her earthly presence will be missed, I’m sure her spirit will live on through our memory of her and her teachings. I feel lucky to have known her and those she’s helped shaped.

My condolences to her family.

Rosonna was a very supportive faculty member. I valued her work and benefited tremendously from her mentoring and sense of humour. I am extremely fortunate to have known her.

I extend my sincere condolences to Rosonna’s family.

Dr. Tite was my professor when I did my M.S.W. program. I am very grateful for her contributions to my education and for her kind approach. I am saddened to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family and friends.

I worked with Rosanna when she was the coordinator of the “Women’s Studies Program” at Memorial. She was generous with her time and had a way of making space for those around her to be included and heard. My condolences to her family and friends.

My condolences to Rosanna’s family and friends. She was a wonderful colleague and a very special person.

I was one of the fortunate ones to have known & worked with the wonderful Dr. Tite. She was my thesis supervisor & my friend. Rest well Rosonna.

Aunt Rosonna was such an inspiration and encouragement to me, not only when I was growing up but especially when I began my own academic journey. She believed in me when I stumble over believing in myself. I always hoped she’d be proud of her nephew and that she’d see some of her work continued in my own journey as a teacher. She exemplified the heart of a teacher, a scholar, a friend. I will miss her. Thank you so much for livestreaming her service. Being on the west coast, I could not be there in person but I was able to attend and, in my own way, say farewell and thank you to her.

It was an honour to work with Rosonna. She was a trail blazer advancing social justice with passion, dedication and knowledge. Hers is a legacy of research, teaching and service that embodied principles of equity and caring..

My condolences to her family and friends.

Sad to hear about Rosonna’s passing. Although we had not seen each other after retirement, I remember fondly our adventures as pioneers of the old Women’s Studies programme. May she rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to Ellen and family. Rosanna was a great person, and a good friend to many. She was a fine scholar and colleague.

Rosanna was an important mentor to me in my early days as an Assistant professor in the Faculty of Education. Drawing from my teacher roots , I was always trying to get everything done at once. She always reminded me – although our research feels endless , the researcher also needs time to rest. I have always dedicated a few weeks in July to “joyful rest” on her advice. Lucky to have had Rosanna in those early days !

On behalf of faculty and staff of the Faculty of Education, Memorial University, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Tite’s family, friends and colleagues, at this difficult time.

Dear Ellen,
To you and extended family, please accept my deepest condolences .💐 May Rosonna Marie Rest In Peace. Her life was indeed well lived and her contribution to Education will long be remembered.
Pat

As I have expressed to Rosonna many times, she changed the pathway of my life, for which I am forever grateful. I am also unendingly thankful for the support she provided, the mentorship, and the example of HOW to supervise. All of these learnings have been invaluable throughout my career. I will miss her presence so much.

Rosonna was a wonderful sister-in-law. I first met her when I had the pleasure of attending the wedding between my sister, Ellen and Rosonna. Her intelligence, lively wit and great conversation skills made her fun to be around. I will miss her dearly. I want to offer a blessing here, one which I was privileged to give at Ellen & Rosonna’s wedding. It is as meaningful today, as it was back then.

OLD SCOTS BLESSING……
May the blessing of light be on you – light without and light within. May the blessed sunlight shine on you like a great peat fire, so that stranger and friend may come and warm themselves at it. And may light shine out of the two eyes of you, like a candle set in the window of a house, bidding the wanderers come in and out of the storm. And may the blessing of the rain be on you, may it beat upon your Spirit and wash it fair and clean, and leave there a shining pool where the blue of Heaven shines, and sometimes a star. And may the blessing of the earth be on you, soft under your feet as you pass along the roads, soft under you as you lie out on it, tired at the end of day; and may it rest easy over you when, at last, you lie out under it. May it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly; up and off and on the way to God. And now, may the Lord bless you and bless you kindly. Amen.
