In loving memory of Edward Hussey, who at the age of 88, departed this world on April 7, 2024, surrounded by the comfort of his family, just as he wished.  Born on June 5, 1935, he was a gentle soul who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Predeceased by his parents Robert Sr. and Winifred, infant son Charles, brother Gus, his life-long confidant and best friend, close friend and brother-in-law Gary, and other family members and friends.

Left with a lifetime of fond and loving memories his wife of 62 years, Pearl, his daughters Cynthia (Dean), Pam (Gord), Elaine (Jeff); son Blair; cherished grandchildren Tiffany (Sean), Stephanie (Shawn), Mitchell (Aynsley), Steven (Melissa), Travis, Tyrus, Nolen, Rory; great grandchildren Brady, Cash, Sadie, Liv, Carter, Blake, and Alex; siblings Marjorie, Robert (Doris – deceased), Hubert (AnnJeannette), Doris (Loyal), special brother Calvin, who was a beloved son in his heart.  Edward will also be missed by special nephew Ricky and his wife Shirley, whom he adored and shared countless cherished memories with.  Also including a large circle of extended family and friends.

With a deep reverence for nature, he found peace in the whispering of trees and his beloved garden.  His passion for gardening, especially nurturing his vegetables, was a reflection of his caring spirit and connection to the earth.

An unparalleled story-teller, he wove the fabric of his life into tales that captivated all who listened.  As a father, he was the embodiment of love, offering guidance, warmth and unwavering support.  His faith was not just a belief but a source of solace and strength for us, his family.

As he journeyed through his final days, he faced adversity with grace and courage, finding peace amidst the pain.  And in his last moments, he found solace in the familiar embrace of his home, surrounded by the love he nurtured throughout his life.

Though he may have left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Special acknowledgement to son-in-law Dean and granddaughter Stephanie, who comforted him during his final days.

The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 11 at 11am with interment to follow in the Paradise Non-Denominational Cemetery.  The funeral service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

Flowers graciously accepted, or donations in Edward’s memory may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation.

Now you are peacefully sleeping away from all your pain, but the love in our hearts will always remain.
