It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a kind and loving soul, Edward Patrick Quilty. Peacefully passed away in the loving presence of his family at his residence on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 78 years old.
Predeceased by his parents Michael and Laura Quilty; brothers: Gerald and Mike; sisters Mary, Rita, Agnes, Regina, and Lucy.
Left to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Janet Quilty (Hussey); sons: Steve, Jason (Heather), Jeremy (Ingrid); daughters Regina (Kevin) and Lisa. Grandchildren: Brittany, Meghan, Zachary, Nathan, Alyssa, Lucas, Sara, Ashley, Liam, Edward, Clare, Maya; great-grandchildren Elliot and Ella; siblings Nick Quilty and Carmel Antle.
Edward was born and raised in Paradise. He was a devoted husband and loving father, and hard working man, a family man, a provider, a great and loyal friend, and superhero to his grandchildren and there was nothing he couldn’t do for them.
He will be missed by everyone that had the chance to meet him.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, October 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 16 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the St. Thomas of Villanova Cemetery, Topsail.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the CNIB https://cnib.donorportal.ca/Donation/Donation.aspx?F=1841&T=GENER&L=en-CA&G=345&NFP=1.
