Obituary
Passed peacefully away at Saint Patrick’s Mercy Home in the early morning hours of Monday, April 22nd, 2024.
He is predeceased by his wife, Stella; parents, Harry & Elizabeth Rockwood; sisters, Pamela Hanson and Edna Spurrell, his loving companion over the years Shirley Baker.
Left to mourn are his sons, John (Lenora) of Paradise, Dennis (Yasmine) of St. John’s, and Paul of Gander Bay; daughters, Dale Rockwood of St. John’s and Elizabeth Rockwood of St. John’s; brothers, Ron Rockwood of St. John’s, Syd Rockwood (Joan Rockwood) of Ottawa, and Andy Buckley (Liz Luckley); sisters, Irene Eddy of St. John’s, and Trudy (Shawn) and Judy (Sam) of St. John’s; grandchildren Eddy, Jonathan, Melissa, Justin, Tracey, Raven, Joshawa, and Steven; and is survived by many friends and extended family.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the staff of Saint Patrick’s Mercy Home who loved him dearly in the short time he was residing there. XOX
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, April 24th from 2 -4 PM and 7 – 9 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Edward’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society.

Very sorry to hear of Ed’s recent passing. I knew Ed for many years when I worked with him at National Sea Products. He was a fine worker. I ran into Ed a number of times over the years and always enjoyed our chats. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincere condolences John and Lorena. I remember Ed from the few times he came up on The Hodgewater Line for a scattered weekend. Godspeed
