Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on January 26th, 2024, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Edwin Snook, age 88 years. Predeceased by his wife, Gail (January 10th, 2024); his parents, Jacob and Ida Snook; and his brother, David. Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories, children, Melanie (Randy), Joanne (Kerry), and Jeff (Andrea); grandchildren, Jacob (Liz), Stephanie (Daniel), and Leigha; his darling great-grandson, Theo James; brother and dearest friend, Cyril (Lorraine); brother-in-law Wayne (Mary-Lynn); as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Ed Snook was kind, gentle, and patient beyond measure, and was loved and respected by all who knew him. His lifetime career was in civil engineering, and he was also a talented artist. Ed created many beautiful paintings over the years, with his favourite subjects being landscape, sea and sky. Ed loved to read and he never stopped learning, having a particular interest in science and space.

His family was his joy. Ed’s grandchildren called him “dadad” and he spent many hours in their company. Playing, drawing and reading with them in the younger years, and being there for all the special moments as they grew up. Our treasured memories of “dadad” are filled with only happiness and love.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Friends and extended family are invited to join us for a reception and celebration of our parents’ lives on Saturday, February 3rd, from 2pm to 4pm at Bally Haly Country Club (at the new Bally Haly location on Golf Course Road off Stavanger Drive).
