Elaine Taylor (nee Ralph)

November 9, 1948 to August 14, 2023

Obituary

Elaine Taylor (nee Ralph) passed away with her family at her side on August 14, 2023.  She leaves to mourn her husband Charles Taylor of 35 wonderful years together who will hold her in his heart and love her forever.  Her daughters Andrea and Lisa, granddaughter Samantha, her son Darren (Leanne), grandson William, granddaughter Tatum, brothers Wayne and Daniel, nephew Devlin and niece Eden, and niece Amanda.

She is predeceased by her mother Lorraine Ralph (nee Berg) and her father Tobias Ralph and their infant son David Alfred Ralph, and special aunt Eleanor, and cousin Donna.  Also, her precious fur babies Sandybear, Eddie, Dusty, Willow and Ginger who she loved with all her heart and soul.

Her father was the first in his family to not go to sea to fish or serve in the merchant marine.  His career with the Canadian Army meant that Elaine was born in 1948 in the military hospital at Shilo, Manitoba, where Tobias was serving as a paratrooper.  Her childhood included many moves to different military stations including four years at Soest, Germany.  She graduated from High School in St. John’s in 1968.  She returned to Newfoundland in the 1970s where she raised her family and made many friends.

She was loved by all who knew her including Charlie’s daughters, Susan (Gary), and Amy (Shannon), and granddaughters, Danika and Alexis.  Charlie’s sisters, Hilda, Anne, Florence (Doug), and brothers Gus, Doug, and extended family.

She will long be remembered by her closest friends Cynthia and John, special god daughter Lindsay and her three special daughters Lily, Lakelyn and Laylah, special friend Gerard, and cousins Dulcie, Maryann, Debbie, and Dianne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made if you wish to the Lupus Society of Canada (website).

A memorial service will be held in her memory on Saturday, October 7th at 2:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Church in Topsail, CBS.
