Passed peacefully away on Dec 24, 2017, in her 100th year, our dear mother, Emily Sarah Baker. Predeceased by husband Bill; sons Bill Jr. and Doug; daughter Joan. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Ron (Betty), Fred, Bob (Charmaine), Wayne (Sandra), Don, and Rick (Sharon) along with daughters Shirley (John), Judy (Tom), Linda (Eldon) and Beverley; brother Walter (Loretta) Vere-Holloway; sisters-in-law Lillian Holloway and Rita Baker as well as extended family and friends.
A special thank you to the staff of the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion for taking such great care of Mom in her last years.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 27 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, December 28 from 2-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 29 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Emily’s memory may be made to the ALS Society, NL-St. John’s Chapter.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Emmie’s passing. She was a strong and loving woman. I had a laugh when we visited her last. When she saw me she said ” your eating good, Patsy”. In reference to my weight, off course. We all love you, Aunt Emmie. Rest in peace. The Holloways.

Remembering Mrs. Baker with fond memories of being at her house while hanging out with the Baker boys who were with me at 2515 St. John’s army cadet corps. They were a true family held together with the love of their Mom. Miss you Doug, and now your Mom will join you and Peg. RIP Mrs. Baker.
