Florence passed peacefully away at Health Sciences in presence of her family.
Predeceased by her husband Eric Richard Tucker; grandson Kevin Hutchings; sisters Helen, Lillian Pearl, Cynthia; brothers Vic, Herber, Clarence, and James. She was the last remaining member in the Wheeler family.
Leaving to mourn are her five daughters who loved and cared for her, she made great memories for them. Carol Anne (Mike), Charmaine, Elaine (Wayne), Miranda, Lisa. Grandchildren Jason (Tracey), Renee (Mark), Danielle (Larry)), Chad, her precious Nicole, Brad (Tanya), Ashley (Chad), Adam (Tara), Melissa (Bill), William (Crystal) Challaina (Aron), Tyler (Brae). 14 Great grandchildren Also, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Also, her sister-in-law Sylvia Morrissey who had many drinks and sang their favourite songs when Sibbie visited from Toronto.
Thank you to Dr. Robert Woodland who cared for mom for 35 years until he retired. Thank you to the Doctors, nurses, and staff, of 2 west at Chancellor Park who she resided with for a year and a half. Tom for your humor and care that always kept a smile on our mother’s face. A huge thank you to Mike Maloney who loved and cared for her as if she was his own mother.
Family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home at 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday November 30 from 12pm-9pm. funeral to take place on December 1 at 2pm at Carnell’s Memorial Chapel.
Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association St. John’s, NL.

My heart goes out to all of Flossy’s daughters who loved her so much! She was so clearly a beautiful role model for all of you. I only knew her for the last year and a half but I am so grateful for every moment, I absolutely loved her brilliant wit, quick dancing feet, and very generous soul. We were saddened to hear of Florence’s passing. It was our privilege to care for her during her stay on our unit. She loved music and singing…and loved to carry on and have a laugh.
It was nice getting to know her during her stay with us…and getting to know you…THE FAMILY…aswell. Thank you for sharing Florence’s stories with us, it gave us an incite into the wonderful woman she was. She was a lucky woman to have a family who cared for her and spent time with her like you did.
