Obituary
Passed peacefully away after a short illness on October 29, 2022 surrounded by family and friends Gabriel Francis Fagan of St. Mary’s at the age of 77.
Predeceased by; Son Stephen, Daughters Cindy and Paula and their Mother Theresa (Fagan nee Russell). Siblings Augustine, Helen, Monica, and Edward. Parents James and Hannah Fagan. Sister-in-law Catherine Fagan.
Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories his daughter Valerie, granddaughter Abbie Fagan, Billy and Becky Walsh and their father William Walsh. Partner Mary Hanlon and her family; daughters Debbie Collins (John), Ruby Mullett (Frank), Doris and Bernadette Stewart (Cyril), sons; Desi (Tina) and Fred (Kathleen).
Also leaving to mourn his siblings; brother Patrick (Paulette), sisters Imelda English (Adrian), Bernadette Lee (Gearld), Mary Comerford (Steve, deceased), Colleen James (Garry), Kim (David), Niece Jackie Cullen (Barry), brothers-in-law Michael Fleming and Art Gibbons; as well as many other nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
The Family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at the HSC 4 South A for their compassion and Allison Keay Whiffen of the Nurse Abernathy clinic Trepassey for her care and support.
Gabe touched many lives through his work in the community. He will be remembered for his work as a paramedic and his love of gardening.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the family in care of Patrick Fagan.
Visitation will be held Friday November 4, 2022 from 2 pm to 9 pm at Our Lady of Assumption Church, St. Mary’s NL. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Saturday November 5, 2022 at 11 am at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Inurnment to follow.

Alex and I would like to extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of Gabe. He was a lovely man who helped many people during his years a paramedic, and went above and beyond his duty. He brought Alex to the hospital after he broke his leg in two places while ice fishing in t Crossing Place. He was always cheerful and helpful and will be missed by many, especially his family. We will surely miss Gabe……he was a kind and gentle soul. Never a guy to panic, he came to our house several years ago- when I asked him to help assess my wife’s arm, after she fell. Gabe felt her arm, and he worked the broken bones back in place, as they sat on our front step.
At the hospital, staff told us that whoever set her arm — saved her from surgery . That was Gabe……unflappable, and kind……we’ll miss you .
