Geraldine "Jerri" Dalton (nee Keough)

May 25, 1947 to March 29, 2022

Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of “Jerri” Dalton on March 29th, 2022 in St. John’s NL. Jerri passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. A special thank you is extended to brother Sean, sister-in-law Judy and daughter Catherine for making Jerri’s final wishes come true and bringing her comfort during her final days.

Jerri is predeceased by parents Katherine Kehoe and Gerald Kehoe, and brothers Terry (Mabel) Kehoe and Joseph (Judy) Keough. Jerri leaves behind a circle of family and friends including children Catherine (Ron) Hogan, Kelly Dalton, Patrick Dalton, grandchildren Olivia Harding (Samantha) and April Warren, siblings Bob (Jill) Keough, Patrick (Carol) Keough, Sean Keough, Michael (Rose) Kehoe, and special little people Eva Beck, Eliza Beck, Madis Sambla and Jude Sambla.

Jerri found solace in helping others in need. Whether she was helping someone find a job or helping someone who was down on their luck, Jerri was constantly opening her heart to those in need. “I wish I could have helped more people” Jerri stated in recent days. Even when faced with life’s struggles, she was still thinking of helping others.

Jerri was a lover of animals and found peace with cat Maggie and grandpups Ozzy and Ruby. They will certainly miss her warm embrace.

Jerri led an adventurous life and through various jobs created lifelong friendships all over the province. Her humor was unmatched and her spark will live on through our memories.

In lieu of flowers, we ask everyone to donate to The Gathering Place – a charity for the homeless located in St. John’s:

“The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour.

Now is the only time you own. Live, love, toil with a will. Place no faith in time. For the clock may soon be still.”

Cathy, Kelly, Patrick and families;

We were so saddened to hear of Jerrii’s passing. We met Jerry and Ed when we became neighbors when we were first married but, as it happens in life, we moved and just saw each other occasionally at funerals and hospitalization s over the years. However, we would often keep in touch by phone…and it was during these conversations that she would keep me updated about her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of all of you and your accomplishments. I do know for sure she loved you all very much.. I know everyone has to process grief in there own way…..but to give you peace in your heart and souls, try to remember the good times….because she is at peace now.

Our love, sympathy and greatest respect to all of you.
Bill and Bonnie Sinnott
