Obituary

Our dear mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, Gloria Lorraine Barron passed peacefully away on October 23rd, 2023, at the ripe age of 85. She was a wonderful mother and an amazing grandmother/great-grandmother. She was always there for us and always happy to help anyway she could.

Gloria had a love for bingo, scratch, and Nevada tickets. She also loved to sit with family and have a game of cards. She loved to sit and have a chat on the phone for hours with country music playing in the background.

Gloria is survived by daughter Ros (deceased Paul), Florence (Edward), Donna, and Shannon; sons Basil (Jessica), Edward (Tina), Jim (deceased Mary) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Gloria is also survived by her sister Pauline, brother Bob, Dave, and Don. As well as her furry friend Boots. As well as special friends Lorraine, Judy, Darlene, and Curtis. Gloria also leaves to mourn her bingo friends at Knights of Columbus Br. 1452 and Kenmount Road bingo hall. Gloria will reunite with her brothers, sisters, mother, and father. As well as the daughters of her son Basil, Krystal and Jennifer, and her grand daughter, Samantha.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on 7 West. And a very heartful thank you to Dr. Dana Butler and team, who gave her the best of care. Thank you so much for your compassion and care given to her in her last days.

The family will be accepting visitors are Carnell’s Funeral Home on 329 Freshwater Road, Friday October 27 from 5-9pm. Funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m.

Flowers will be graciously accepted, or you may donate in Gloria’s name to a charity of one’s choice.

Please note that Carnell’s is a nut free building, due to a staff member with a severe allergy. Thank you for your understanding.

Donna,
I am so very sorry about your Mom’s passing. Remember all the beautiful memories you shared over the years and smile; she would want you to do this. This will get help you through the tough days ahead. She is with our Lord Jesus now and will always be a part of you. You will see her again someday. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏
