Obituary

Passed peacefully but suddenly on January 2, 2023 at St. Clare’s Hospital.

Predeceased by parents Arthur and Mary (Wilkins), sister Ruth Price and husband Tom, in-laws Stan and Mildred Brocklehurst, brother-in-law Edward Brocklehurst, and sister-in-law Alice Brocklehurst. 

Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 52 years Patricia (Brocklehurst), son Keith (Janis) of Nova Scotia, son Bryan (friend Rosie Kennedy), grandsons Steven (Britany), Tyler (Kayla), Jonah (Alyssa), great- granddaughters Eiloise, Lydia, and Rylie, all of Nova Scotia.  Also leaving to mourn sister Louise Johnston (Tom), brothers-in-law Frank Brocklehurst, Kevin Brocklehurst (Florence), Paul Brocklehurst (Glenda), sisters-in-law Rosanne Barclay (Tony), Marg Brocklehurst.  Gordon will also be missed by a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, January 5 from 12-3 and 5-8 p.m.  Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 6 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Vera Perlin Society or a charity of one’s choice.

So sorry to hear this news. Gord and I started kindergarten together at Prince of Wales. We were neighbours for 40 years on Gleneyre Street.

We are very saddened to hear of Fire Captain Parson’s passing. Sincere condolences to all Gordon’s family. Just recently I had the opportunity to be in Gord’s presence and we both had a nice chat and a laugh with some reminiscing. RIP Gord!!

Dear Bryan and Pat, Mark and I were very sad to hear the passing of “Gord” as Mark always call him. We spent many years call pooling and Mark was always delighted when Gord arrived., they were good friends. I remember Gordon as a pleasant happy person with a smile on his face..
