James Raymond Hiscock

October 17, 1940 to March 31, 2024

Obituary

James Raymond Hiscock passed peacefully on March 31, 2024  surrounded by loving family.

Jim was born in 1940 in Lance Cove, Bell Island.  Predeceased by his precious wife Elizabeth, he leaves many friends and relatives to mourn.  Honest, humble and unselfish, nothing gave him more pleasure than a warm spring day spent gardening. A special thank you to his neighbours the Mitchells, who kept a close eye on him these past few years.

An announcement regarding his memorial service and burial, some time this summer, will follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Our condolences to the family on Jim’s passing.A very fine gentleman and close family friend.

So sad to hear this news. He was such a “Gentleman”. He is at rest with Aunt Betty – may they both R.I.P.

Dear Bob ,Corina ,Bonnie The Pitts Family and Doris Jim’s sister . So so sorry for Jim’s passing . He was a kind , obliging ,gentle ,and private person who never wanted to cause anyone any trouble as he would say.And he didn’t . The past four years were extremely hard on him since Betty died . He would tell me so many stories about her and him and how when the love of your life is gone a piece of you goes too. He was always in my yard trying to keep busy making my yard into the Beautiful Garden that it is or if he saw Floyd at the wood always gave a helping hand. From time to time he would stop in for a cup of tea and some kind of tart lol. Floyd and I will miss him more then words can say. But we know he is in the arms of his Precious Betty and Jim is at Peace . I bet that Garden in the Sky is alot more Beautiful cause Jim is there.

Doris and the Hiscock and Pitts families,
We are sorry to hear of James’ passing. Please accept our sincere condolences.
