I met John at our gym. He always had a smile, and we always had a laugh chatting about whatever happened to come up in our conversation – politics and sailing were easy topics. His picture here is how I will remember him. It was truly an inspiration to see John at our gym several times a week. He was easygoing and consistently upbeat, and I miss his presence. My condolences for your loss.

It is with great regret and sorrow that I read of the passing ofJohn, a true friend and crew-member.
John was a fine sailor and taught me most of what I know about sailing. He was a keen member of my crew for many years and we did a number of long cruises together.

Cheri and Calla,

I am so very sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. The first time I met him was when I was 15 and had just taken a part-time job at Ayres gift wrapping for Christmas. After Cheri and I started hanging out there were many hours spent at your house and Mr. Kenny was usually somewhere close by. Christmas and Regatta Day were always special as your mom would have enough food to feed an army and your dad usually had a keg of beer on handwork those old enough to drink it. I don’t think I ever heard him raise his voice but when you got “the look” you knew something was amiss.

May your love keep your heart full and your memories keep him close.
