It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Keith Joseph Evans, in his 52nd year, on January 21, 2024. He was a devoted son and wonderful brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend.

Predeceased by his father William Evans (2006). Leaving to mourn, mother, Margaret Evans, brother Bill (Sandra), sisters Cindy (Dave) and Beverly (Derrick), along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles near and far. Also two special longtime friends Marty Kennedy and Jennifer Murphy. We would also like to thank Dr. Samarasena for her special care and friendship over the years.

Keith was a very quiet, shy, reserved, individual, who spent most of his time close to his home, which he shared with his loving mother. He was a doting son, loyal companion, and loving caregiver. Our family grew to depend on him for many daily things which are commonly taken for granted. For this, our family is forever grateful. Regrettably, we didn’t tell him as often as we should have.

He liked to dabble with painting and drawing, fly tying and fishing over the years. However, his one true passion was his lifelong love for music. From the age of two he always had an instrument in his hands. He could play the keyboard and harmonica, but his true love was his guitar which was never far from reach. He learned to play by ear but taught himself how to read sheet music. A gifted guitarist. He had a beautiful singing voice which could only be heard when he thought no one was listening. He also enjoyed writing songs and lyrics. It would be a blessing to hear him play once more.

“Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.”
from The Wonder Years

Our hearts are broken. Keith will forever be in our hearts and in our memories.

My condolences to Keith’s family & friends. I’m really sorry for your loss.. I knew Keith back in school (HHM), he was on his last year and me on my first. He was *always* the kindest, most humble person in any given room, as well as the best guitarist! His 100,000-foot view, big-picture perspectives on things always brought about a WOW moment. Please don’t hesitate to call on any of his friends, new & old, should something arise. We’re more than glad to help in his honor.

Margie, so saddened to hear of you Sons passing.
Condolences from me and all your friends at the Newfoundland Cardiac Rehabilitation Association..
