Dear Cyril and family, I’m so sorry for your immeasurable loss. Linda did have the brightest smile, exactly as Peter Miller said. She was “Radar” in the CBC building, always having fun with Peter and John Baker, always warm, always wearing fun earrings. So glad I got to spend time with a person like her. My deepest condolences.

Cyril and family. Just heard – I didn’t know. I never knew anyone with a brighter smile. We worked together for a long time at CBC as you know – when we started work together I nicknamed her Radar – she always looked out for me. I truly valued and loved working with her. One time I said – I have to keep up with the times – you are now Lidar. Your sorrow is shared by many – Linda was a special gem of a person of which you know well to – may she rest in peace.

Cyril and family. So sorry to hear of Linda’s passing.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Eric.

Was so saddened by the news of Linda’s passing. For sure it has left a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was always a laugh-a-minute. My fondest memory of Linda was going through the A&W parking lot and there was Linda with her “big footed slippers” hanging out the back window of Jackie Smith’s car.

Please know that Linda will always be remembered for her lovable disposition and her sense of humor.

Sincerely yours,

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Linda at CBC. While I retired from there long before Linda , whenever we met it was like it was yesterday. She had such a lovely personality, a great sense of humour and was always smiling. I don’t think I ever heard her say a bad word about anyone.
The void will be so hard to fill but the wonderful memories you all share will hopefully help ease your pain.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Around lunch time one fall morning our sewing group was at the Milton United Church basement, when this lovely smiling lady came in the door with a book in hand. She sad she was Linda Bennett from Port Blandford just moved there from St John’s.
We invited her to set and have some lunch. We soon found out what was in the book, it was a pattern she wanted to sew. Linda did learn how to master that pattern after doing some much more simpler ones first. Linda enjoyed sewing with the group and we enjoyed every minute with her. Linda was a perfect at every project she did.
Linda always took part in every activity. She enjoyed the overnight trips, pot luck lunch, Christmas Parties and taking part in the quilt project’s for the Janeway and other hospitals.
We shared many laughs. Linda was a very Special person and dear friend we miss you much.
I’m sure on Monday morning when you went to heaven you said with a smile I’m Linda Bennett from Port Blandford. RIP.
Nina

To Cyril

So sorry to hear of Linda’s passing.
When “Aunt Benny” came to On The Go back in the 70s, she virtually adopted me and the rest of the crew.
Whether it was a recording of that song you couldn’t quite remember the name of, or the paperwork that got us all paid, Linda’s cheerful personal whirlwind blew it into place. and made it look easy and fun.

She’s deeply missed.

Oh my Cyril, sorry to get this news. Remember fondly meeting you two at Costco early in Linda’s treatment. She was actually going around hooked up/taking her treatment then and there and had an amazing attitude. As you know we kept in touch since and all the while she’d inquire about my wife Barb whose is in Long Term Care with Alzheimer’s and how I was doing. That’s who Linda was, concerned about others in the midst of her own health challenges. From being my school buddy at Bishop’s til now, glad to call her my friend. RIP dearest Linda.

We called Linda, Radar, not what spell check changed to. We all loved and respected Linda.

My condolences to Linda’s family and friends. I worked with her at CBCRadio for many years. No one could do anything but admire and love Linda. We called her Raider, because that is who she was to us…the person. who held it all together with grit and grace and humour. We all loved you Linda.

Cyril and family…my sincere sympathy on the loss of Linda. She and I worked together for a decade at CBC Radio. While I valued her as a colleague, it was her friendship I treasured most. She invited me into her home – both in St. John’s and Port Blandford – whether for a cup of coffee, a meal, and even a bed for a few nights when I was searching for a place to live. We belonged to the same craft group, although I never took to quilting with the passion that she did! Without doubt, she was one of the kindest, most generous, fun-loving, cheerful people – always wearing a smile – I’ve ever had the good fortune to meet.

Dear Cyril,
I want to pass on my sincere condolences. I think you know how much everyone at CBC loved Linda.. She was a constant cheery presence, efficient, sensible, and fun to work with. She was one of the people we were happy to see every day. She will be fondly remembered.

Cyril and the Harvey family. Sincere sympathy on the passing of Linda. We went to Bishop Spencer College together from K to Grade 9 and then on to Bishops College for grades 10 and 11..
