It’s with broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Lloyd Mushrow at the age of 60. Lloyd was a husband, son, father, brother and uncle, as well as a friend to many.

Lloyd is predeceased by his mother Mary C Mushrow, grandparents Thomas and Margaret Barter and Peter and Mary L Mushrow.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted wife Donna of 31 years and his adored son James.  He was a loving son to his father Lloyd J Mushrow Sr., and a cherished brother to Nadine Mushrow Cape Ray NL, Madonna (Basil) MacIsaac Fort Saskatchewan AB and Nancy Mushrow (David P. Osmond) Lower Sackville NS.  Lloyd will continue to be held in fond memories with his parents-in-law Eric and Annie Woolridge Botwood NL, sisters-in laws Annette Murphy (Michael Myles) Clarenville NL and Erica Newhook (Trevor) Whitecourt AB.  Lloyd will also be missed by his nephews and nieces Bobby and Christopher Skeard, Jody MacIsaac, Paige and Grant Ellis and Travis and Patrick Newhook, his close uncle Dr. Ken Barter (Judy), Victoria BC and friends Judy Bambrick, Wayne and Tina Osmond, Bill and Trudy Wilson, Wayne and Myra Keats, Lyndon Vallis and Reggie Leamon. Our furry friend Nero will also miss Lloyd’s attention and love.

Lloyd was born in Channel-Port aux Basques, a place he always called home. He often reminisced about his childhood and the great friends that he had there, whom many are fondly referred to as the Brookers.  He spent his career with the laboratory program at Eastern Health and enjoyed 5 years of retirement with travel, riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with family and friends.  Those who knew Lloyd accepted that he was always engaged for a passionate discussion and willing to freely share his opinions and views.

Special thanks for the compassion and kindness of Goulds Fire Department, Eastern Health Paramedicine Program and the RNC.

No flowers by request.  Donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques NL or NL Chapter of Ride for Sight.

In keeping with Lloyd’s request, cremation has taken place.  There will be a visitation on Wednesday October 4 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road.  The funeral will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 5th at 2PM
