to Bryan and family: Hearing Brian Doerksen’s song “Faithful” this morning, reminded me again of our God and Major Lorraine’s constant faith in Him. The lyrics are: “Faithful One, so unchanging. Ageless One, You’re my Rock of peace; Lord of All, I depend on You. I call out to You again and again. You are my Rock in times of trouble’ you lift me up when I fall down All through the storm your love is the anchor. My hope is in You alone.”
We trust the Lord will bring comfort as He promises.

To Bryan, Mrs. Moores, Brenda , and family
It is with a heavy heart that I write to assure you of
my constant prayers for each of you as you have
journeyed with Lorraine through her illness.
Upon hearing of her passing, I have begun reflecting
of our first days at 21 Adam’s Avenue as ‘God’s Soldiers’ Session Mates. Our friendship grew from that time and even when distance prevented seeing each other, whenever we met, we just picked up where we left off.
Her care, compassion and zeal for Christ was very
evident and although, often ‘afar’ I have followed her
ministry even her loving care when illness and grief
knocked on my door. A Remarkable Soldier of God!
My life has been blessed to have known her.
May the God of all Comfort be yours now and in the
days to come.
To: Bryan, Mrs. Moores and family:
Sorry to hear of Lorraine’s passing. Please be assured of my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Lorraine was my session-mate and we had many good times together. She truly was a remarkable woman of faith.
May God give you strength and courage for the days ahead.
God Bless you all.

Dear Bryan,
So wish we could be there today for your Mom’s service of celebration!
Your Mom was a beautiful person and we were very fond of her. Our paths met at 21 ADAMS Avenue in Sept of 1979, when we entered the Training College as Cadets.
We have so many memories of these days. We were all proud that we were Cadets of the “God’s Soldier” Session.
When we had the privilege of getting together on occasion, we talked much about the memories of our training days. We kidded her that she was the “baby” of our session. Distance and years apart always made the reunion for us sweeter. We were still bonded with each other after all these many years.
Lorraine was very passionate about her calling as a Salvation Army officer; and this was exemplified in her ministry on a daily basis. She was indeed a faithful Soldier of God and served well to the end.
Bryan, I am so glad that I got to meet you at Fuse this past September. I remember very well the text that I received on the Saturday afternoon, saying “ you got to meet my son, Bryan. He’s playing in the band” It was wonderful to meet you and share with you. Your Mom was so proud of you!
I know this is a tough time for you! We hope the great memories you have of your Mom will help you; along with the encouragement, love and prayer support of family and so many friends. A bible verse that we have found helpful is Psalm 46:1. “ God is our refuge and strength, a very PRESENT HELP in time of trouble”
Please be assured of OUR love and Prayers for you, your Nan and family.
Hugs to all of you!

So very sad to hear of Lorraines passing. ..yet rejoicing in spirit to know that she truly has been promoted to Glory. Condolences to her family and please know you are covered in prayer. May His peace cover you today and in the days to come .
Bryan, Hannah, Pauline & Family:
I first met Lorraine September 1979 when we entered the College for Officer Training. We became Session Mates. I have fond memories of Lorraine over the years. We have been stationed in different Provinces but always kept in touch. The past 2 and 1/2 years we were privileged to be stationed in the same City at DHQ. It has been a journey that I was able to walk with her. She will be missed. She was Courageous and Brave to the end.
May God give you Strength, Courage and Grace in these days. Bill and I will continue to keep you in our prayers
To all the family: Our love and prayers surround you at this time. A gracious, loving soldier of Christ has finished the course after a faithful life of service.
We knew Lorraine in Toronto at CFOT. We were privileged to be at the wedding ceremony of she and Brian – a wonderful blend of cultural traditions!
We pray that you will feel surrounded by the faithfulness of God and His peace which passes all human understanding.
Bryan & Family:
My heart is saddened to hear of the passing of a friend and fellow session mate Lorraine.
I have many fond memories of Lorraine, beginning at 21 Adam’s Avenue as we began our two-year training for Officership.
Lorraine always enjoyed a bit of fun and a good laugh and we had our share of those as our paths connected at various points in our ministry journey.
She loved ministry and embraced very opportunity to share the love of Jesus with those around her.
She will certainly be missed but we know that she is now free from disease and the pain it can bring. She is enjoying being in the presence of the Lord whom she loved and served faithfully to the very end.
I would so love to be at her Celebration of Life service but due to commitments beyond my control I am unable to attend.
Be assured of my thoughts and prayers. May you feel the warmth of God’s embrace and experience his comfort now and in the days and months to come.
God bless you

To Bryan, Pauline and Moore’s families:
A brave fighting soldier has gone to her heavenly home that she so richly deserves. Bryan and Pauline, our hearts ache so much for you. You watched this beautiful lady struggle through life with so many battles but she never gave up and she never gave in.
What an amazing testimony to leave behind. She will always be remember for the strong child of God that she was. Now she is pain free and in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she served faithfully.
Your earthly separation, from her, is going to hurt for a long time. Lorraine was such a loving and amazing person, how could you not miss her.
Cherish every beautiful memory you made together. They will get you through the dark valleys. Thank the Lord that there is no more suffering. Be there for each other and give lots of hugs.
Praying for peace for you despite the storm. John 14:27 says, “my peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world give them, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
May God be your strength and comfort in those days.

Servant of God, well done! Lorraine was a great inspiration to so many in her ministry and in her battle against cancer. Her faith and good humour during her battle touched us all so deeply. We bonded over our mutual love of our much beleaguered Maple Leafs and the last time we messaged each other, said that she was going to have a word with the Lord about them when she got to heaven! I told her that when they hoist the Stanley Cup, hopefully in my lifetime, hers will be the first face I see. Praying for Bryan in particular. Never was a son loved as much and prayed over as much as was he. Your faith family is surrounding you with prayer I these oh so difficult days. God bless you and Hannah and extended family.
Joanne and I are deeply saddened at the Promotion to Glory of this brave soldier. Having worked with Lorraine at the CFOT inToronto, we hold her in the highest regard. Her compassion for people and her passion for the Gospel will live on through those she has influenced and loved. Our prayers are with the family. Major Doug Binner
