Lucy Jean Marx (nee Feaver)

September 30, 1935 to July 2, 2023

Obituary

Lucy passed peacefully with humility and modesty on July 2nd, 2023. Her life was full and happy, with an unwavering love and affection for her family. A single mother who trailblazed her way in providing a happy and loveable home surrounded by pets, flowers, friends and family. Her career path was filled with fond memories in the advertising industry through her time with the Daily News and the What’s Happening Magazine. As a proud Spencerian, her artistic talents of painting, ceramics and crafts have provided lifetime memories.

Predeceased by her parents Roy and Dorothy Feaver and her sister Jeannette Feaver.

Leaving to mourn with happy memories, her son Tony Marx (Gillian), and her cherished sister Linda Feaver (Dan Brown), from Ottawa.

Nanny Nou, also left behind the absolute loves of her life, her grandsons Benjamin (Emily Cole) and Jacob, who she adored and loved beyond measure. Benjamin and Jacob have been blessed and her teachings of kindness, respect and determination, will bode them well.

Also leaving to mourn her dear lifetime friend Tim Murphy from Brighton, Ontario who she loved dearly.

Special thank you to her friends and staff at Chancellor Park who provided tremendous support and care for Lucy., especially Dr. O’Shea. The family thanks you very much.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date and donations to the SPCA or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Through her life, Lucy could be heard singing,

“I did what I had to do

I saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course

Each careful step along the byway

And more, much more than this

I did it my way”

Sorry to see Lucy has gone. We worked together in the crazy world of publishing and advertising. She was always “a tonic”. Referred to each other simply as “Sparkes!” “Marx!” We need more people in our lives with such a spirit as Lucy had.
