It is with great sadness that the family of Max (Eugene) Sullivan announce his passing on November 23rd, 2023, at the age of 58 years.
Predeceased by his Father Boyd Sullivan and Sister Sonia Percey. Leaving with memories his Spouse Sharon Fowlow; his Children Joshua Sullivan and Stephanie Sullivan; Step-Children Ian Paddick (Lindsay) and Gary Paddick (Josie); and Grand-Children Madeline and Owen Paddick.
Born and raised in Bauline, he was son of Norma Sullivan, and a brother to Judy Strugnell (Chris), Jeanette Hollett (Tom), Miriam Moore (Wayne), Bonnie Kirby-Sheppard (David), Val Sullivan (Jeff), Keith Sullivan(Lori), and Rod Sullivan(Melissa).
Max was well known for his expertise in anything automotive, he was one of the most meticulous car painters the industry knew of and from his teenage years could take the front of one vehicle and back of another, put them together and make it run smoothly – that was his very first car. He pursued his passion for cars in both his career and free time often spending long hours tinkering with the latest civic he got from salvage, he was dedicated to his craft.
Throughout his life there were a few specific things that brought him great joy, he absolutely adored being “Papa Max” to his grandchildren Madeline and Owen, they brought out a side of him he didn’t show often. His cats, Tiggs and Roo, brought him comfort, company, and joy when he needed it the most. They were able to make him smile and laugh everyday, he loved sharing pictures of them with family and friends. Knowing Max he would usually be shy, quiet, and liked to keep to himself, but anyone who knew him well can appreciate his ability to be the life of the party, his quick wittiness, and his love to make people laugh. His adventurous side loved to travel anywhere with a beach and hot temperatures, he could bask in the sun for hours, often having to be reminded sunscreen even existed. Max loved nature and the outdoors, he found solace in fishing around his old stomping grounds in Bauline and never wanted to miss out on a hunting trip with the boys. He cooked the most delicious meals from scratch, especially turkey dinner. He took great pride in feeding a crowd and everyone in the room would remind him that his turkey was always the best. As a faithful Toronto Maple Leafs fan, like his sister Sonia, they would never miss a game together and kept in touch with statistics up until she passed.
