Michael Wroblewski

November 10, 1964 to May 6, 2023

Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Edward Wroblewski on May 6th, 2023, at age 58.

Michael leaves behind his wife Doreen, daughter Rebecca (Mitch), son Jacob (Jessica), mother Judi, sister Leslie (Scott), many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends; all who he loved so dearly. Michael was predeceased by his father Ted and brother David.

Michael was always enthusiastic and invested in every endeavor, hobby, and friendship that he had during his life. Michael was a wrestler in his younger years, a soldier in the 1st Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, a meteorologist, and a fly fisherman. Michael had a strong appreciation for classic rock, horticulture, and good food. Michael was an absolute mentor to anyone that would listen.

Cremation is planned and a celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion in Portugal Cove, Newfoundland on Friday May 12th at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael’s memory may be made to the Salmon Preservation Association for the Waters of Newfoundland (SPAWN).

I have tried to write this a few times, and tried to be brief. (didn’t succeed after all) it’s difficult to put into words how sorry and sad to hear of Michael’s passing. our condolences prayers and love are with the Wroblewski family at this time. Michael and i had plans to get together face to face (text and phone is too limiting we said) to catch up more fully on the story of each of our life paths. we hadn’t had a chance to do that since i visited in Winnipeg in 1998,(can’t count much too brief conversations at funerals over the years) we did talk about our passed on family members waiting for my mom with perogies and cabbage rolls at a welcoming feast in the next realm. sadly for us still here, there will be one more at the table. when it is our time, we shall meet again, feast, tell stories and watch over those near and dear to us. Love and respect always and forever. your cousin, Stephen (and partner Jo-Anne)

I had the privilege of serving with Mike in Calgary back in the early 80’s. We shared more than a few beers and many laughs. He was a guy you could count on to have your back or stand with you shoulder to shoulder.

You will be missed brother..VP.

Sad news indeed. My old brother from another mother. I spent my formative years in the PPCLI. Mike was a great lad. Always good for a laugh. I wondered what he was up to over the years. RIP Mike. See you in Valhalla.

Thoughts and prayers are with Doreen, Jake, Rebecca and the entire Wroblewski family. We didn’t know Mike well but thoroughly enjoyed the times we spent with him. We were looking forward to being in-laws one day. Rest well Mike. You will be missed

My thoughts r with the Wroblewski family. Mike and I were friends for 45 years and myself and Mark Robert’s were able to visit with Mike and Doreen this past year. A trip that will b cherished and remembered forever. I knew Mike to b a good son, brother, husband , father and friend. He was so proud of Rebecca and Jake and said they were his best friends to me many times. I feel truly fortunate and privileged to have had the blessing of Mike in my life a true friend. Take care Mike, cheers

I never met Mike, but his niece Nancy is my best friend, so I’ve heard many stories about his warm and generous spirit. I hope his memory is a blessing in the hard days to come. Sending love and strength to his loved ones from Chicago. ❤️

We were so saddened to hear of Mike’s sudden passing. Our sincere condolences to Doreen, Rebecca and Jacob and the Wroblewski and Bailey families. God bless you all.

To the Wroblewski Family,

Mike was like an uncle to me. He was a mentor to me during the offshore projects I was involved with 2018 to 2020. I’m a better meteorologist because of Mike. We formed a strong bond, both personally and professionally. I am deeply sorry for your loss and you are all in my thoughts. The legacy Mike left is invaluable. I will be forever grateful for having the honor of calling him a coworker and more importantly…a close friend.

Please accept my sincere condolences.
