Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Hancock on Saturday, January 9th, 2021.  Nancy is predeceased by her parents Donald and Annie (Starkes) Hancock, and her beloved son Christopher White.

Leaving behind to mourn with broken hearts: son Matthew White (Jo-Ann), sisters Mona (Hancock) Morgan and Dawn (Floyd Letto), brothers Brad Hancock (Catherine Murphy), Peter Hancock (Linda), and Clark Hancock; her partner Wayne Dunne; and Nancy Hannaford; her adored grandchildren that loved their Nan Nancy (all that) Matilda and Harrison; aunts and uncles Dulcie and Merle, Wayne and Rosalynn, Kathy and Geoff, Rita, and all the extended families that she loved dearly; nieces and nephews Bradley Hancock, Lynn Whitehead, Laura Letto Lagoy, Katie Morgan, Ben Letto, Janel Hancock, Erica Hancock, Keira Hancock, and her extended family of nieces, nephews and large circle of friends that she though the world of and loved just as much.  Nancy loved many and was loved by many.  She enjoyed simple things and precious moments, crocheting, walks in the park, losing herself in her garden, baking the best goodies, all those long phone conversations and spending time at her happy place.  She will be deeply missed.

The family will be postponing services until a later date due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Another Angel has her wings.

I only happened on the loss of Nancy on Matts page with his children. I recognized him from the pics Nancy shared of her Sons & those beautiful Grandchildren, she so adored. I am deeply sorry for your loss, Matt, Wayne & Nancy’s siblings. I met Nancy when she worked with Payroll, & was looking after her Mom. She was a gentle, dear, kind soul, whose thoughtfulness knew no bounds to her family & friends. It was a pleasure to have known her. God bless you all.

My sincerest condolences to Nancy’s family.

I’m so incredibly shocked and saddened to hear of Nancy’s passing. I have only known Nancy for a little over a year when I worked with her, but she is someone who will always hold a special place in my heart. She was so sweet and kind, and the love for her son and her grandchildren was so evident every day. There wasn’t a day where she wouldn’t proudly show pictures to me. Because of Nancy I tried crocheting for the first time and learned to make a Black Forest cake! My heart goes out to her family; I can’t imagine how difficult this time is. Rest In Peace Nancy and be with Chris.

My deepest condolences to you all. The few times I met Nancy at Clark’s house, I always remember the softness in her smile and deep love she has for her family. May you all find peace knowing that Nancy’s kind gentle spirit is each one of you.

Mona, Brad, and the Hancock family. So sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of hanging out in Middle Cove and the long walks on Marine Drive and Middle Cove Rd that we all did together as a group. I remember her dating a guy and they would walk to Torbay Rd with me to make sure I got home OK. I was about 12! Over the years I would always get a big hug from Nanc every time we would run into each other………….like three times in one week after about two years. She was a sweetheart! God Bless!
