Obituary

Passed peacefully away at Glenbrook Lodge on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the age of 91.

Predeceased by her husband, William James S. Butt, parents William George and Annie Miller, sisters Olive (Elwin) Henderson, Emma (Henry) Verge and Beulah White, brothers Maxwell (Barbara) Miller, Bernard (Alvina) Miller and Lorenzo Miller, brother-in-law Baxter (Zeta) Butt.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of loving memories daughter Krystine (James) French and son Steven (Goldie) Butt, two precious grandchildren Gregory (Lynn) French and Katheryne French, the light of her life her two great-grandchildren Rosalie and Daniel French, brother-in-law Frank White, many nieces and nephews along with numerous other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff of Glenbrook Lodge for their care and support especially during this past week.

The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, May 17, and Wednesday, May 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held from Wesley United Church, 101 Patrick Street, on Thursday, May 19 at 2 p.m.  The service will be livestreamed (see link below) for those unable to attend in person.  Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Wesley United Church or St John’s Church Cemetery Fund, New Bonaventure, Trinity Bay.

She was a friend, and a wonderful friend during our years at Wesley and she maintained her contact with us via phone and mail as long as she could!So we give God thanks for her exemplary Christian witness!, her long-standing loyalty to Wesley, the hospitality of her home, her caring and loving personality, and her courage iand determination in affliction!As you mourn and celebrate her life we are with you in love and prayer! I’m sorry

Our Deepest Condolences to the family of Nellie Butt. We have fond memories of our visits with her and Aunt Zeta, and the family, on Prescott St. RIP Nellie!

We are both saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. Our condolences to the family. May God’s richest blessings be with you all as your mourn her passing but, at the same time, give thanks to God for her life. Take care!

We will always remember this lovely lady who was so devoted to her grandkids at St. Mary’s and to her church at Wesley. When we think of Nellie we think of kindness, humility and love. May she Rest In Peace and our condolences to the family..
