Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a loving Wife, Mother, Nan, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Great Aunt, on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, Nita “Dolly” Lillian Pippy, age 74 years.

Predeceased by mother, Cenith Gollop; brothers: Ches (Jean), Bram, and Will; sister Shirley Paré (Bernie); brothers-in-law: Bill Pippy (Marg), Roy Arnold, Paul Smith, Mick Antle, and Kevin Legrow.

Leaving her loving husband of 54 years, Reuben Pippy; sons: Reuben Pippy Jr. and Thomas Pippy; 4 grandchildren: Ainsley Pippy, Liam Pippy, Addison Pippy, and Ethan Pippy, all living in Ontario; brother Bill Maher; sisters: Barb Smith, Sandra Benoit (Roger), Carolann Antle, Jenny Davis (Jim); sisters-in-law: Patricia Gollop, Lorraine Arnold, Sylvia Legrow, Doris Legrow (Cecil), Karen Wall (Gary); brothers-in-law: Melvin and Junior (Kay) and their families; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Also, best friends Betty and husband Tom Power, Mary and husband Bob Patterson, and Barb and husband Dennis Murray.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Wednesday, January 31st. Cremation to follow.

A service of Celebration will take place later in the Spring.  Donations in her memory, may be made to the Cancer Care Foundation.

Dolly and your family were a very special part of our lives and we cherish many wonderful memories of when we were neighbours at Ranstone. She was always welcoming and loving and hosted many gatherings of family and friends. We will always remember the friendship she showed us, infectious laughter and loving hugs. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We wish you comfort and peace.

Dolly was a great volunteer at the Bowmanville Older Adults Association,. We all loved working with her in the kitchen with her determination to get the job done, her great laughter and especially her hugs when the job was done,. We really missed Dolly when she moved home to Newfoundland. Dolly will always be remembered for the great woman she was.

Words cannot express how devastating it must be for Reub, his sons, the grandchildren , siblings and extended families on Dolly’s sudden passing. Dolly enjoyed life to the fullest. She had the greatest laugh, gave the biggest hugs and had a smile for everyone.
Our precious memories of her will sustain us in the difficult days ahead. May she Rest In Peace.
