Obituary

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Patrick passed peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit in St. John’s, NL on November 22, 2022.

Pat spent his working career with the Canadian Armed Forces, Naval Division with 30 years of service. He was a kind and loving husband and a generous friend to all who knew him.

Pat and Charlene enjoyed many cruises, as well as traveling all over North America in their “well maintained” RV. Pat’s love of singing lead to Karaoke and he entertained many of us with his powerful songs over the years.

Lovingly remembered by Charlene (Stevenson), his loving wife and best friend; children, Jeff Macrae (Robyn Bates), Michael MacLaughlin, Mark Bishop (Lorena), Stephen Bishop; grandchild, Brayden MacLaughlin; mother, Marie MacLaughlin; mother-in-law, Clarissa Stevenson, brothers, Steven Cousins (Brian), Gerry MacLaughlin, David MacLaughlin, Doug MacLaughlin (Kathy Roberts); sister-in-law, Susan Stevenson (Shawna Shiers), brother-in-law, Scott Stevenson (Helene Lavigne) along with many of Pat’s dear friends and colleagues.

We are all so grateful for the kind support of friends, Daphne and Mario Simon, Virginia Pennell and Terry Tremblett. A sincere thank-you to the caring and compassionate staff at the Palliative Care Unit.

A cremation has taken place.

Charlene and Family – Sincere condolences on the passing of your husband, Patrick. I was not aware he was unwell and was quite surprised to learn of his passing. May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you made together. Mary

Charlene it saddens me to hear of Pat’s passing. We all had some great times together. Visiting Halifax, camping in the “Brick” and cruises . Pat was the karaoke 🎤 King . We enjoyed listen to him as much as he loved singing. He was a great entertainer. He even got me to sing with him on one of our cruises. I have to say he made me sound good, he had such a great voice. You have lots of great memories to cherish . RIP Pat
