Mrs,Batten. I hope you realized how many of your students were so very fond of you. RIP and sing with the angels sweet lady.

Donna and Family,
I am so very sorry to learn of Mrs. Batten’s passing. As my Grade 1 teacher at Brinton in the mid-70s, I remember her with fondness.; she always had the kindest of smiles! And of course, seeing her on Sundays at church only served to remind us of the firm, yet guiding hand that she provided to us all through the week! Mrs. Batten gave many generations of students the desire to learn and the tools to succeed. She was instrumental in my own education as she instilled in me a love of language. I’m so very blessed to have had her as my teacher. I know she will be remembered by many as she has touched a multitude of lives throughout her storied career. Condolences to all her family and friends as you celebrate her life and cherish the memories you hold dear.

Donna – My sincere condolences on your loss. Your mother was an amazing woman and while I never had her as a teacher I remember her through you. I still have and use her fantastic icing recipe. She gave it to me after I raved about the icing on cupcakes she made for your birthday party when we were in Grade 6!
May you take comfort in a life well lived, a live that brought joy and knowledge to hundreds, and a life that left you with wonderful memories.

I was so sad to hear of Pearl’s passing. May your soul rest in peace and your family and loved ones know

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Batten’s passing. She taught my children at Brinton and as my husband put “she was one of the good one” . For many years after when we would bump into each other she always asked about the children by name and was so pleased to hear news of them. Simply put she loved all the children and they loved her. I am grateful for her life and her time with my children.
