Peter Keith Warren

December 5, 1953 to December 17, 2020

Obituary

Peter passed peacefully away after a short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, December 17th, 2020, at age 67. He is predeceased by his parents, Roger Warren and Nellie Warren (Hibbs) and other family members. He leaves to mourn a broad circle of family and friends who are left with many fond memories: his wife and best friend, Dorothy (Dot); children that he was incredibly proud of, Justin (Catherine) and Tiffany; siblings Sandra Hillyer (John), Chris Warren (Marilyn), Roger Warren (Sharon), Barbara Taylor (Wayne) and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and in-laws, especially Tim Perrin, Jennifer Pittman, Jennifer White (Kyle), Ashley Davis (Geoff), and Donna Perrin (Rene) who were always incredibly supportive and especially during Peter’s brief illness. Special mention to his brother Chris who was always there for him from the beginning; his little buddy Luke; and many special friends near and far. Peter always led by example by being selfless, helpful, hard-working and honest, all while having an infectious personality and a way of bringing people around him together. He would go out of his way to be helpful, taking on any task with a smile and he was known for his consistent, hard work and ‘get things done’ attitude. He will always be well-known in the construction industry after spending more than 40 years in sales at Toromont Cat (formerly Newfoundland Tractor.) His personal connections there spread far and wide; even in retirement and after his cancer diagnosis, he still found time to make a sale. Peter would literally take the shirt off his back for anyone; he even did that once to close a deal on the spot. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a service will not be held at this time but a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In Peter’s memory, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

As a person you could not meet a nicer, gentle and kind individual as Peter. It was my pleasure to have worked with Peter during my time at Newfoundland Tractor( Toromont Cat) and I will always remember him as one of the best colleagues I had the pleasure of working with over many years. His contagious smile would always put you in a good mood.
My sincere condolences to Peter’s entire family. Your lost is heaven’s gain.

Dot and family – when I think of Peter – the words that come to mind are – respect, dedication, integrity, honesty and sincerity – all of which in the dictionary would have Peter’s picture next to them. I had the pleasure of working with Peter for over 40 years – over which time I dealt with a lot of Peter’s customers. One thing they all had in common was their respect for Peter’s professionalism and dedication to the job and their business. The industry has lost a legend – one his family must be deeply proud of. Peter’s legacy will live on………..
Helen and I extend our deepest sympathies at this painful time – carry your precious memories with you. God Bless
