Dear Carol, Bill, and Jill,

As I’m sure you know, your mother meant a great deal to me and to our family when I was growing up. We always enjoyed those Sunday evening visits when we would go to Freshwater Road or you would come to Albany Place. After I left, I always made sure to visit your mother whenever I returned. I’ll miss her, especially on my future visits to St John’s.

Dear Family of Phyllis;
Deepest sympathy from the Members of George Street United Church Women. Phyllis has been a valued member for a long, long time. For many years she was Convener of the Committee on Literature & Communications as well as Leader of Unit 5. and all the Unit’s participation in Church services and General Meetings. I expect you remember her with the Church calendars and various cookbooks for sale and getting ready for Jumble Sales. In 1995 she was honored with Honorary Life membership in the United Church Women.. We are so thankful for her life of service – and to her family who helped her with UCW work. We missed her when she was unable to attend. We mourn her passing and will remember her with love and gratitude.
God Bless.
Warm regards.
Pauline Murrin, UCW President

Jill, Bill, Carol and families, I ‘m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was always kind and generous. A wonderful lady, and she will be missed by her family and friends.

Jill, BIll, Carol and families – Since the first birthday party I got in on in grade 1, Mrs. Phyliss showed the way to bring people together, keep a family and home, and make people feel so cared for.

From then on 104 was a welcoming sanctuary full of warmth and fun and adventure. The house was larger than life and full of excellent players, but Phyliss was the heart of it. The Boxing Day cookies, the always-perfect cup of tea and little snack, the pictures on the fridge, the beautifully-kept home – she made it all seem effortless.

Her patience with the years of dinner parties (spaghetti everywhere!), Murder Mystery Dinners, New Year’s Eves and the regular occupation of the Green Room demonstrated a composure never to be seen again.

How she loved you guys and your people was beautiful, as was she.. Her eyes always sparkled, she was always well-turned out, she was understated funny and if she wasn’t wearing a smile it was never far away.

Her kindness, acceptance and generosity inspired so much good in people. We’re grateful to have been part of it.

To the Blackmore family, please accept our sincere condolences. Aunt Phyllis was a lovely lady Albert and Lenora Woolgar
