Passed peacefully away on October 15 at the age of 83. Living in Medicine Hat and formerly of Whitbourne. Predeceased by his wife Marcie (Kelly); parents Wes Harris and Mary Harris (Hutchings); In-laws Bill Kelly and Marcella Kelly (Murphy); sister Shirley Bursey (Harris); sister in law Geraldine Bruce (Kelly). Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories his partner in life Dorothy Patry and her family; sons Perry and Paul (Sue), three grandchildren; Dylan (Dominique), Stacey and Amanda. Also leaving to mourn brothers Don (Barb), (Skip) George (Doris), Todd (Helen), his extended family and a large network of friends from his participation in various music clubs, The Royal Canadian Legion and fellowship friends.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 13th. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 14th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Inurnment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery Columbarium, Forest Rd.

To All Ray’s Family – especially his Sons , Perry and Paul, his brother Skip: Sorry I was unable to pay my personal respects, so sending my Deepest Sympathy at this sad and difficult time. Thinking and praying for everyone for courage and strength as you journey forward in your grief! God Bless!

I have many fond memories of working with him when he was the Administrator at the Waterford Hospital….he would surely agree that those were the good ol’ days. He was wonderful to work with and promoted so many plans which promoted mental health care and treatment.

We exchanged Christmas cards every year to and from Medicine Hat and he called Joe a few times. We didn’t know that he was sick and Joe talk about their growing up in Markland many times and getting together to make some music. We are very saddened about the passing of Ray. We got to know him when Dorothy and Ray were camping at King Arthur’s .
Jake and Ray golfed every day, and Jake often commented he has never had such a great golf partner! We all also loved his singing ~ and had many laughs together..

My deepest condolences to you and your families on the passing of your father and brother. One of the last times I saw Ray was when my sister-in-law, Dolores, and I were visiting Mrs. Harris. Ray was home on holidays and we were fortunate to spend some time with him reminiscing and having a laugh. I have good memories of the Harris family from our days in Whitbourne.
