Retired dairy farmer from Torbay Road, passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Clare’s Hospital on Tuesday March 5th, 2024.

Predeceased by his loving wife Florence Field and partner Carrie Allen; parents, Valance and Mary (Codner) Field; baby brother, Ronnie Field; brother, Phil Field; brother and life-long business partner, Eric Field; sister, Laura Carter; parents-in-law, Chesley and Rita Summers; sisters-in-law, Francis Field, Bernice King, Yvonne Summers, Jean Summers; brothers-in-law, Ches Dawe, Charles Skanes, Bobbie Summers and June Summers.

Les was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and a proud member of the Royal St. John’s Regatta Hall of Fame (Rowing Category).

Les leaves with fond and loving memories his sons, Rodney and Ricky (Rachel and Michael); sister, Mildred Skanes; sisters-in-law, Doreen (Jack) Tricco and Helen Field; brothers-in-law, Eric Summers and Gus Carter and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Special thanks to the vascular unit staff at St. Clare’s Hospital for the care and support provided to Les in his time of need.

Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s on Sunday, March 10th from 7-9pm and Monday, March 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Thomas’ Church on Tuesday, March 12th at 2pm with burial at Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery to follow.
