It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle; Robert Wayne Pelley. Passed peacefully away with his beloved son by his side on June 28, 2023 at the age of 73 years.

Predeceased by his loving wife Carol Ann Pelley (nee Joy); his parents, Burns and Monica Pelley; sisters, Joan Flynn (Bob), Rosemary Summers (Don), and Bernice Moore (Ted); brothers, Bernie Pelley (Margo), Joe Pelley (Patsy), Dave Pelley (Sharlene), Alf Pelley, and Rick Pelley (Mary).

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories, his only surviving sibling and sister, Barbara Kopinski; son Robert (Colleen); daughter Bonnie (Barry); Four grandchildren, Brandon, Kirk (Brittany), Cameron, special granddaughter Maycee; and three great grandchildren, Bentley, Lyvonna and Nora. Will also be missed by relatives of the Joy family, many nieces and nephews and great friends.

Dad (Bobby) held a place in many hearts. Those who knew him or had just met him immediately took a special liking to him. His sense of humour and wittiness always made you laugh and put a smile on your face. He loved fishing, whether it be roughing it in a tent far back in the woods or simply grabbing his pole in the evening for a quick flick. He had a big passion for music and most especially for playing the accordion. Irish music was his favourite and you would always find him sat on his chair proudly playing his accordion. Those who know him, can picture him now, playing his famous favourite “Dirty Old Town”. Dad will be dearly missed and his memory will live forever in our hearts.

Thank you to the nurses and team of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre. Thank you to Tracy Stack for her kindness and compassion towards Dad during his last month of life. A heartfelt, special thank you to his nephew Tony Pelley, who unconditionally took care of Dad with open arms during his last year of life. Your love never ever went unnoticed.

Following his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation.  The funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 3 at 11 a.m. with inurnment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  The funeral service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person, with the link available above.
