On December 28, 2023, with family by his side Rodney William Lawlor, at the age of 57 peacefully passed into eternal rest. Rodney is predeceased by his loving mother Olga Lawlor, infant brother Barry and Grandparents Lawlor and Parsons.
Leaving to mourn, the love of his life, his daughter Alyssa Lawlor, his devoted father Harold, loving brother Dennis and special nephew Dylan. Also leaving behind, special friend and Alyssa’s mother, Pam Rixon, and special care person, Tammy Rose, from St. Pat’s Mercy Home, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
As a young boy, Rodney loved playing with dump trucks and loaders. His passion for heavy equipment never changed. He eventually poured that love into following in the footsteps of his family and making a career in construction.
Rodney lived a life surrounded by so many friends. He loved music and could always be counted on to sing you a song or two. A lover of the outdoors, Rodney was in his glee spending the day cutting wood, hunting moose or catching a fish on the pond.
Of all the things he loved and held dear, there was nothing that meant more to him than his family. Rodney looked forward to his regular Sunday visits home for Jigg’s Dinner with his family whom he loved more than anything.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the 1North Staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for all their care and compassion and the Dialysis Unit at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, December 31st from 2-7 p.m. and Monday, January 1st from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 2p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Rodney will be laid to rest with his mother in the Paradise Cemetery, Paradise Road. The funeral service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
