Obituary
Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Health Science Centre on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Rona Rosalind Ash of St. John’s, formerly of Hant’s Harbour, Trinity Bay. Predeceased by her parents Bertram and Daisy (Short). Leaving to mourn are partner Bill Abbott, son Jason Garland, sisters Peggy (Ted) and Patsy (Rick) and brother Newton (Joan). Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, January 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 14 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Hant’s Harbour on Friday, January 15 at 12:00 noon. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.

Our sincere sympathies to Rona’s family. Rona was a friend of my late sister Carol, but I certainly remember her as well growing up in Hant’s Harbour. God Bless and Rest in Peace.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Rona’s passing. Even though we didn’t keep in touch over the years I knew Rona from growing up in Hant’s Harbour. and found her to be a very kind and considerate person. So sorry to hear this news.
